An ACA instructor certification workshop (ICW) is a combination of an instructor development workshop (IDW) and an instructor certification exam (ICE). The ICW will be part training and part exam. The highest potential outcome for the class will be certification, through the ACA, to teach packrafting in a L3 venue (class 2).
The primary focus of the class will be to learn and refine techniques for teaching the skills on the ACA L3 packraft syllabus. There will be time spent in a classroom, on flat water and moving water up to class 2.
Student candidates should be competent at all of the on-water skills before they sign up for the class. While there will be an in-depth review and assessment of each skill, class time is not meant to be used introducing new skills.
